A period of time during my late
teens and early twenties was spent
producing these abstract pencil
drawings.

Each image was started as a
'practice' drawing, without reference
to anything - but 'made up as I went
along'. Some images were later
used for paintings.

My artistic influences at the time
were Roger Dean, Salvador Dali
and W. C. Escher.

With the intention of drawing
anatomical figures and practicing 'before
foreshortening', each image
evolved toward a dreamlike or often
quite bizarre surrealist conclusion.

I was sometimes able during the
final stages to draw in some sort of
meaning, analysis or story for each
image and have attempted to relate
my interpretation...
